“We’re Close To Finding Habitable Worlds,” Lie Scientists

A top NASA officer and other leading scientists are claiming that we’re 4-5 years from finding a habitable exoplanet (meaning: a world outside our solar system).

The reason? NASA’s new Kepler telescope, which is lighting the scientific world on fire faster than the introduction of a new, single, female scientist to their labs. At the yearly American Astronomical Society conference, scientists were abuzz about each new exoplanet Kepler discovered inching us further and further to finding a quiet, Earthlike planet where life could have developed despite the exploding stars and massive black holes of our universe.

I’ll believe that we find a new habitable planet when I see it. It sounds way too convienent. We screw up this planet and all of a sudden we get a new one lined up, just in time? Veeerrrrrrryyy cooonnnvvviiienenent.
