Augmented Reality T-Shirts Amaze All

I’ve been a late adopter to augmented reality hype, wondering why it is that everyone’s getting so excited about technology allowing Best Buy to better sell us Blu-Ray players. But, I have to admit, the editors of T-Post magazine got my attention with this video:

For those who prefer reading to watching, T-Post is a magazine that handles offbeat news, like mind expanding superdrugs, de-evollution or sexual confusion. Instead of printing their magazine on paper, they hand the information off to a graphic artist who designs a cover and prints it on a t-shirt. They then print the magazine (which, to be fair, is made up of one article) on the inside back of the t-shirt. Subscribers receive a new t-shirt every month.

Only THIS month, for issue 51, they’ve designed a t-shirt that, when viewed through the appropriate device, will play a game of rock-paper-scissors with you. I take back everything bad I ever said about augmented reality – that truly is cool.

How much does this all cost? 19 Euros per shirt, which by my mental calculation is about 35-40 bucks per t-shirt. Pricey, but cool!
