Dreams Do Come True: Starcraft II Closed Beta Begins
12 years. 12 long years since we last journeyed with Raynor & Kerrigan, flew battlecruisers and carriers, and fought alongside Zeratul and Tassadar against hordes of Zerglings…
My friends, our long wait approaches its end, as Blizzard announces its launching of a closed beta to Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. The release launch target is for the middle of this year.
What’s with the delay? Well, considering how hard everyone at Blizzard’s working on Cataclysm, the major expansion to the the monumental cash cow World of Warcraft, some delay is understandable. That, and they claim they want to make sure the game is “good” (I would buy ten copies of this game even if it were shitty), but to think – if you played the original Starcraft as a teenager, there’s a good chance you’re a college graduate by now. And if you were a 35 year old power gamer, you’re now almost fifty.
That’s a long long time. But from all the playtest footage, it looks like we’re in store for an amazing game.
