5 Adult Apps Still In The iPhone App Store

playboy iphone appI thought something like this might happen. Apple, which recently culled five thousand apps from the iPhone App Store due to “adult content” hasn’t touched the  following five apps, according to a report from PCWorld. The apps are:

  • Adult Sex Life, an app which features sexual positions and a “little black book” of your sexual conquests
  • iKamasutra, which teaches you new sex  positions
  • Loveline with Dr. Drew, a sexually explicit radio show
  • Playboy, which features no nudes, but plenty of risque photos
  • Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2010, which also features more cheesecake shots than should be allowed under the “new rules”

Why do these apps survive while others perish? I’ll bet dollars to donuts it’s because they’re polished, corporate apps, which don’t “feel” as gross as say, an app some guy made in his basement that lets you jiggle silhouetted breasts.

Still, there’s a ridiculous double standard at work here. Apple needs to do something to rectify this before they become thought of as a censorship-friendly company.
