Bluetooth will allow you to beat down your friends wirelessly, and Capcom’s press release promises “famous characters from the early entries of the series” as well as new fighters.
Like many of you, my first thought was to the controls of such a game, which Capcom assures us will work – a transparent, moveable d-pad and button set will be at your thumbs disposal, ready for all your fireballing and hundred hand slapping needs.
The question remains: will the iPod Touch or iPhone’s touch sensors be adequate to handle the game’s furious combos? The games I’ve always played on the systems have required a touch or two to execute simple commands, not the d-pad sweeps and combination taps of the classic fighter.
Still, the allure of carrying around Chun-Li or Cami in your pocket may prove irresistible to gamers – stay tuned for the official release date and price.
