Shut off the Buzz With New Google Buzz Settings

I have yet to spend any real time with Google Buzz, and as such I’ve been looking for an easy way to turn it off. Like lots of email obsessives, I hate having a folder that has a ton of unread messages, so Buzz’s constant reminder that it exists has been a thorn in my side since it launched. Fortunately, Google has already updated Buzz with new options that address some of the early gripes about the feature.

First off, you can now hide the Buzz inbox completely and prevent the public from seeing your followers list (one of the biggest early complaints). If that’s not drastic enough for you, you can even permanently delete your Buzz account. Choosing that option will remove all traces of Buzz from your Google profile. Of course, like any Google product, you’re always able to restart it at a later date.
