Virtual Reality, Now With Real Life Neck Pain

So when I think virtual reality, I think Lawnmower man, me in a sweet gyroscope shooting terrorists, aliens, hookers and adorable animals from the hip.

I never think I’d need to do neck exercises.

Gavan Woolery, who combined an Acer GD235HZ 3D monitor, a pair of shutter glasses, and a TrackIR 5 head-tracking system to build this rig that manages to make the helmet from Videodrome look comfortable. Of course, Woolery is completely up front that the rig is “not in any way designed to be practical.”

It looks like it works pretty slick, and if it were the size or weight of a bike helmet I would totally make one.
