Google’s first Super Bowl commercial ran yesterday – in case you missed it, here it is again.

The spot, entitled “Parisian Love,” gives a pretty good tug on the heartstrings. It’d better – they likely spent in the range of $2.5 to $3 million dollars airing it.
Google, who have been notoriously anti-commercials, have been doing more

The spot, entitled “Parisian Love,” gives a pretty good tug on the heartstrings. It’d better – they likely spent in the range of $2.5 to $3 million dollars airing it.

Google, who have been notoriously anti-commercials, have been doing more and more television advertising lately. Does this signal a big shift in their communication strategy? Given the relatively non-existent ramp-up for the Nexus One, it’d seem that Google is of two minds about their policy.

Still, all of their commercials so far have been pretty cool, and I’d love to see more of them over time. Just as long as we can avoid giant, eyesore-inflicting Google billboards.
