It&#8217;s not quite as cute, but the cool factor more than makes up for it.</p>
<p>Powered by a magnetic switch, the lamp is on when the switch sphere is floating below it &#8212; suspended by magnets.  To turn it off, the switch orb is set on the lamp, where it stays.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s just a prototype, but I cannot wait to see it out in the wild.</p>
<p>The designer, <a href="http://www.constanceguisset.com/">Constance Guisset</a>, created a very, very, very Zen video of the lamp in action,  fast forward to about 1:30 if you just want to see her wave between the switch ball and the lamp like a magician (that&#8217;s all I wanted to see).</p>
