So, yesterday the PS3 went through such a massive glitch that Sony warned users not to use their systems at all (the internet’s calling it “Apocalyps3″). The problem? Consoles incorrectly thought that 2010 was a leap year, so they rolled to February 29th instead of March 1st. That, plus computers, means that your hard earned trophies may be gone.

Don’t panic! Sony published information on a fix that should take care of things right away:

It is possible that some users who experienced the connection problems yesterday and tried unsuccessfully to access a game (online or offline) may find that trophy data for that title is no longer displayed. To resolve this issue, the user will need to re-access the game to reinstall the trophies, then exit the game and sync their trophy collection to the server in order to regain previous achievements.

There, internet, now you can stop panicking. Wait, what? The Christian Science Monitor’s reporting that it doesn’t always work? Oh Sony, how far one must fall to be outdone in customer service by Microsoft.
